As previously reported, actress Kim Matula has opted to exit CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” after portraying the contract role of Hope Logan on the daytime drama series for the last five years. In a posting on her Instagram page, Matula confirms her exit and shares what led to her decision to leave the world’s most watched soap!
“What can I say about today? I can officially confirm that I filmed my last scenes at ‘The Bold and The Beautiful,’ read the beginning of her message to fans. “It was a day full of love and laughter and reminiscing about the past 5 years. I made the incredibly difficult decision not to resign my contract so that I could spread my wings as an actor and see what this big beautiful world has to offer. But I can never put into words just how amazing and inspiring this show has been. What a huge part of my life. I do not see this as a ‘goodbye’ but more of a “see you later.” Thank you for giving me an unforgettable 5 years as Hope Logan and thank you to every single viewer who sat side by side with me on this journey. Cheers to the next adventure!!”
While a rep for the soap shares that there are currently no plans to recast the role, one has to wonder how Hope will leave the canvas considering she’s embedded in several major storylines, including a pregnancy.
“It’s true, Kim has elected not to renew her contract with B&B,” he tweeted. “We’re sad to see her go, and yet thrilled to see her shine.”
As we previously reported, Matula chose to walk away from the soap to spread her wings as an actor and “see what this big, beautiful world has to offer.”
There’s no word yet on when Matula will last air, but it seems that when she does, she’ll fully disappear from the canvas, as a “B&B” rep confirms there are no plans to recast the role at this time.

CBS Daytime is celebrating Thanksgiving early with a buffet of holiday-themed episodes of all of its daytime shows, including “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless,” which will air on Wednesday, November 26.
The Forresters, Logans and Spencers join together on “B&B” for a Thanksgiving feast complete with food, forgiveness and gratitude — a bit of a holiday theme for the sudser’s characters as of late. Pam (Alley Mills) and Charlie (Dick Christie) prepare the perfect meal for the group, and as everyone settles in, Hope (Kim Matula) announces that they will be continuing the tradition of putting their conflict aside and saying something kind to the person next to them — whether friends, enemies or somewhere in between. But not all goes smoothly, because it’s clear that two characters are having a hard time keeping their undeniable feelings for one another under wraps!
Meanwhile, on “Y&R,” Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) host Thanksgiving dinner for friends, family and a few unexpected guests at the Newman Ranch. Other members of the Newman family are at an important crossroads as Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) finds himself in a life-altering predicament, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) decides to find out who her baby’s father is and Adam (Justin Hartley) prepares to reclaim his life under a new identity. Across town, Jack (Peter Bergman) and his fiancée, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), spend Thanksgiving making up for lost time after she spent the last year in a coma. But will Phyllis get the happy ending she’s been waiting for?

On Wednesday, November 5, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” shocked the daytime world when it announced that Kim Matula would be departing the drama series after nearly five years portraying Hope Logan, but don’t fret, Hope will continue being part of the canvas, says head writer and executive producer, Bradley P. Bell.
Sean Smith/JPI Studios
In an interview published in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, on sale now, which reports that Matula’s last airdate is scheduled for Friday, December 12, Bell says, “Hope Logan is a critical and central character to the show.” He added, “Hope will continue to be on the show. We’re losing Kim Matula, who is a brilliant actress, and I am hoping, at some point, she will return in the role — but the role will continue.” The soap previously stated there were no plans at the time of Matula’s departure news coming to light to recast the role of Hope, “But now, I’ve lost so many [actors and actresses] in recent years that I’m excited about the challenge,” said Bell.
One of Matula’s last appearances on the soap will be in scenes with Scott Clifton‘s Liam Spencer as the years of love and loss between the two lead to a defining moment for the star-crossed lovers.
It’s Valentine’s Week on CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” and things are turning red, blue and just a little crazy, especially when Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer) is part of the equation.
In a newly released promo for the week of February 8-12, 2016, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) is shown telling Quinn, “You are evil and manipulative, and you’re going to wind up in a padded cell” after he discovers that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is being held captive by Quinn, who tells him that Liam deserves “something good” in his life. Quinn being that something good? Many would beg to differ.
You’ll recall that Quinn is currently holding Liam in her cabin and he has no memory of who he is. In fact, Quinn has even gone so far as to tell him that her name is Eve and his is Adam, referencing to the biblical characters, and that she is is wife! Being that Quinn has been nothing but “evil and manipulative” to Liam, it’s a wonder how and why she thinks she is the woman for Liam after all she’s done to keep him away from both Hope Logan (Kim Matula) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
Speaking of Steffy, she is shocked to hear Wyatt tell her he’d like to spend the rest of his life with her. With her relationship with Liam still uncertain, is the fashionista ready to move on with another walk down the aisle so soon?
Meanwhile, Caroline Forrester (Linsey Godfrey) wonders why her stepson, Thomas Forrester (Pierson Fodé), keeps putting her in a predicament that she seems to not be able to get away from months after their tryst led to an unexpected bond that Thomas isn’t even aware he’s a part of.
Kim Matula (ex-Hope Logan, “The Bold and the Beautiful”) has landed an “UnREAL” new role in primetime. The actress has been cast in the upcoming second season of the Lifetime drama that gives a fictitious behind-the-scenes look at the chaos surrounding the production of a dating competition series.
Matula will play one of the contestants on “UnREAL’s” fictional dating show, “Everlasting,” reports TVLine. Her character, Tiffany, is being described as a hot, smart and rich All-American girl, who is the daughter of a professional football team owner. Her hope is that her appearance on the show will help her step out of her father’s shadow.
Matula, who joined “B&B” in 2010, left the soap after four years in 2014 to pursue other career opportunities in primetime and film. She briefly returned to the show in 2015 to make two special appearances. Matula recently completed a lead role in the film “Maybe Someday,” which has just finished production.
Also joining the “UnREAL” cast next season is Meagan Tandy (“Teen Wolf”) as Chantal,a beautiful and polished Southern debutante, who thinks she’s destined to marry bachelor Darius Hill, after the tragic loss of her fiancé. Monica Barbaro (“Hawaii Five-0”) and newcomer Denée Benton are also playing bachelorettes vying for Hill, while Michael Rady (“Jane the Virgin”) has been cast as a filmmaker and Gentry White (“TURN: Washington’s Spies”) is portraying Hill’s cousin.
Season 2 of “UnREAL” is set to debut this summer on Lifetime.
Good news for Hope Logan fans.Kim Matula (Hope Logan) is heading back to “The Bold and the Beautiful.” However, it’s only for a short stint. The actress will return for one episode on Wednesday, March 16.
Soap Opera Digestfirst broke the news, but offered no particulars about how Matula will fit into the storyline.
Matula last appeared on the soap for two episodes in April 2015, when Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) tried to get Hope to stop Deacon’s (Sean Kanan) wedding to Quinn (Rena Sofer). The popular character was mentioned for the first time in months a few weeks ago. At the time, Quinn told her son Wyatt (Darin Brooks) that Deacon was in Europe visiting Hope.
Hope’s return could definitely stir things up in both Wyatt and Liam’s (Scott Clifton) worlds. Wyatt, after all, recently proposed to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Woods). Might his ex-love Hope resurfacing give him second thoughts about committing to someone else?
As for Liam, who’s been suffering from amnesia, Hope would be the perfect person to trigger his complete memory recall. And, of course, she could also fill Liam in on who Quinn really is and reveal all the machinations she’s orchestrated against them in the past, putting an abrupt end to Quinn’s fantasy romance with him.
Since leaving “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Matula appeared in the film, “Maybe Someday,” which also features Alley Mills (Pamela, “B&B”). In addition, Matula has landed the role of Tiffany in the upcoming second season of the primetime hit, “UnREAL.” The Lifetime drama gives a fictitious, behind-the-scenes look at the mayhem surrounding the production of a dating competition reality series.
More than a year after announcing a third season renewal for drama “UnREAL,” its fictitious behind-the-scenes look at a “Bachelor-esque” reality show, Lifetime announced during its portion of the Television Critics Association press tour on Friday that it has picked up the series for a fourth season.
“UnREAL” follows the story of Rachel Goldberg (Shiri Appleby), who uses her skills manipulating her relationships with, and among, the contestants of reality show “Everlasting” to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the program’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Constance Zimmer), demands. “One Life to Live” alum Josh Kelly (ex-Cutter Wentworth) plays Jeremy Caner, Rachel’s ex-boyfriend and “Everlasting’s”director of photography. Rounding out the cast are Craig Bierko as “Everlasting’s”creator, Chet, who is on a quest to reclaim his full power on set, and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman as Jay, a field producer whose ambitions run far beyond the show.
The third season of “UnREAL,” which is set to premiere in early 2018, features new feminist “suitress,” Serena (Caitlin FitzGerald, “Masters of Sex”), who is determined to have her pick of eager male suitors.
While production has already wrapped on the third season, it’s unknown when the fourth season will begin production or when it’ll premiere.
